LA Story: Vote for an Oscar Worthy Gown to be Worn at the Academy Awards

I love the pageantry of the Oscars.  Living in LA, the excitement has already started.  The town is getting ready, and designers and nominees are already on high-alert.  Who will wear what? Designed by who? Now the  Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is getting into the act with a Project Runway style design contest.  The Academy is having an “Oscars Designer Challenge 2010.”  This Academy Awards design contest features nine up-and-coming fashion designers.  The winner will have their original evening gown worn by one of the Awards escorts during the 82nd Academy Awards on Sunday, March 7. Today in Los Angeles members of the fashion and entertainment press were introduced to the nine designers and their creations at a runway fashion show at the Academy’s Beverly Hills headquarters.
