As a dedicated fan of the free, and style for less, I have to let Recessionistas know that Pantene has launched a new hair care QA site with tips from Celebrity Stylist Hallie Bowman. The site is worth a look because the questions appear to be from real people. I always like that! Plus, there are some cool freebies offered there that may be appealing for those of us on a “low budget.” Style tips include how to recreate: The Swept Back Updo, Everyday Volume, Cocktail Curls , Everyday Smooth, and the Bohemian Braid in your own home. For more information on these styles, check my post of tips with pictures from another great celeb stylist, David Jensen.

But, back to Pantene, in addition to the hair tips, they are also offering a sweepstakes. Yes, more free, and this time, the offer is for a trip. The goal is to help you change your hair from “Everyday” to “Glam” with low-cost products and hair styling tips. Hmm, worth a try I guess, although, in my experience you have to be very careful about what you attempt at home. For me, I would not dare to try color or a cut, but a little braid for a change of pace sounds great. To learn more, enter for a chance to win a makeover and year supply of Pantene products. The makeover will happen in either Los Angeles, CA or New York, PLUS the contest includes a $1,000 shopping spree! Now we’re taking Recessionista speak! 🙂 Bring on the shopping for free!

Just go to the Pantene site and fill out the entry form.

Whether you use Pantene or another product, you can always use the free information. Hair knowledge is power! 🙂
