US Tax Day: Steals and Deals

By  |

Good morning Recessionistas! Well, the dreaded day has finally arrived. It’s April 15th, the day US Taxes are due. For all intents and purposes, the above graphic could be my return. My house is an absolute wreck of clutter and mayhem. Team Recessionista (me, myself and I) were up late last night struggling to complete the dreaded returns. The only nice news I can report about this day is that some retailers and businesses are offering discounts and deals to help consumers today. Here is a little selection.

Smart shopping club HauteLook has sales on two of my favorites, BCBG and Laundry. If you’re getting a refund on taxes, this is very attractive. Click here to join HauteLook and shop as my guest.

If you’re looking for a little comfort food today, US chains PF Chang and McCormick & Schmick’s are offering their guests a 15% off discount in honor of tax day. Both restaurants are conveniently located near me, so I may be popping in later today. McCormick & Schmick’s restaurants are offering a Tax Relief Celebration including $10.40 dinner specials on some items, and several drink specials to provide relief to customers. Other reports of specials include TGIF Fridays and Carvers. Click here for details. Be sure and call the restaurant before you head out to make sure the location near you has the advertised special 🙂

And finally, I stopped by my local Barnes & Noble last night to pick up a book, and ended up picking up a pound of Starbucks coffee to help me burn the midnight oil. The kindly barrista informed me that I would receive a special free tall serving of coffee with a purchase of a pound of coffee as a special deal. I haven’t been able to find any information online about this special offer, but I really appreciated that free cuppa last night while slaving on the taxes. Ask for details at a Barnes & Noble with a Starbucks inside.

Best of luck with the taxes today my friends. Remember, you can always file an extension 🙂 If you know of a tax day special today, post a comment so that all Recessionistas can benefit!
