Like Miles in the movie Sideways, who was on a quest for the perfect Pinot Noir, The Recessionista is a on a quest for Chanel for less. Whether it’s a consignment store, eBay, the Goodwill or shopping clubs, I leave no stone unturned in my quest. The quest is never ending, and all it takes is time and patience for my efforts to be rewarded. Oh yes, and of course a little cash 🙂 Today, my humble fashion prayers have been answered! Fashion club HauteLook is holding a sale on Decades Two Chanel. Decades Two is a consignment store in West Hollywood, CA offering vintage pieces from Chanel and other designers at discounted prices

Ironically, just following my appearance on CNC Today talking about handbags and the timelessness of Chanel, voila, this sale materializes on the “Recessionista Radar” tracking system. Using my high-tech shopping tracking devices, I was able to track this down like the shopping bloodhound that I am. The sale is available to all shoppers in the US or Canada. HauteLook ships to North America only. If you live outside NA, then ask a friend in the US or Canada to shop the sale for you or look for Chanel on eBay from sellers who ship worldwide. Click here to shop the HauteLook sale as our guest. Today’s sale offers tweed jackets and some of the classic quilted handbags in various colors. Shop wisely, as Chanel here, although discounted, can still be expensive. However, as I’ve said before, I believe Chanel is a fashion investment. Let me explain why:

The tailoring, fabric and styling of a Chanel garment will last forever. Chanel also holds its resale value, providing it’s well cared for. Fashionistas still wear Chanel from the 1920s and 30s and it looks as fashionable today as it did then. Check out actress Natalie Portman wearing a 1950s Chanel Vintage strapless black dress at a recent red carpet event in Los Angeles. You’d never think this dress was 50 years old!

Another fine example is the Chanel evening dress from the 1930s. This garment is ageless.

According to Coco Chanel, “A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous.” And in today’s economy, shopping for consignment priced Chanel is classy, fabulous and savvy. I know Chanel would approve. Good shopping today Recessionistas! May the spirit of Coco go with you 🙂
