Lately, I have been spending alot more time in my kitchen at home. Why you may ask? Because I am living and cooking Recessionista style. Yes, dear readers, I have curtailed my love of dining out in order to strengthen my budget. I have also found that I really enjoy cooking. It relaxes me. The BFF has also gotten on board with this trend. He has cut back on our dinners out at our favorite French restaurant in Beverly Hills. And really, that is my own fault. After all, he now reads the blog and tells me he is trying to lead a “Recessionista lifestyle. ” So, in our current economic climate, we’ve been been tuning into the Barefoot Contessa more, taking recipes from the Hungry Bear blog and enjoying alot of the great entries from Epicurious. This winter season, I’ve been making Beef Bourguignon. Its a great way to use up all the red wine in the house that starts to go bad. With this delicious french stew, a cheap and cheerful bottle of vino plus some nice French bread, we can still dine like Parisians without leaving home. And there is nothing like a beautiful and stylish apron to make spending time in the kitchen more enjoyable. Below is an adorable Eiffel Tower print apron designed by City Girl Aprons and sold at the Shop Suey Boutique. After all, today’s Recessionista wants to cook in style. To help our readers get in that spirit, we are giving away this gorgeous Apron. Just subscribe to our newsletter by Feb. 5th to be entered into this apron giveaway.
